Problems are Opportunities8/18/2023 As I write, many of our missionaries are currently facing some huge challenges. Many are trying to regain support, are facing ministry challenges, or are struggling with health. Many of you are undoubtedly facing challenges in your life as well. Last week God deeply encouraged me with this passage that I hope encourages your heart also! Before the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus tested Philip. “Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.” John 6:5-6 Problems reveal our need for God. When we see how impossible a problem is to overcome, it tests our faith. Problems are opportunities to trust Him. The next line is SO powerful: “for he himself knew what he would do.”
Problems are also opportunities for God to show His power. When overcoming a problem is impossible in our strength, He alone gets all the glory! Problems put the spotlight on God because it is clear to us and everyone else that God alone overcame the problem.
In every problem we face, God already has a plan. When He lets us see (and feel) the problem He is testing and growing our faith. Will we respond in faith or fear? Peace or worry? Inner calm or inner turmoil? May you find peace and rest in Him today… even in the face of great challenges. Will you rest in His plan, whatever it might be? Or will you worry that our plan won't happen? Don't focus on the problem. Focus on the provider. Problems are opportunities. He ALREADY knows what He is going to do! Blessings, Kyle "He himself knew what he would do." John 6:6 Who else could you encourage with this post? |
